The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program, sponsored by Community Action of Southern Indiana, is providing free tax preparation by IRS-certified volunteers for individuals and families that earned less than $50,000 in 2014. To schedule an appointment at any of these locations, call 812-590-4064. If you would prefer to prepare your taxes yourself and have a volunteer review them, this service is provided at Community Action of Southern Indiana only.

This year's Harrison County Public Library Adult Reading Program begins on February 2 and runs until April 25. Any adult age 18 and up with a valid HCPL library card is eligible to participate.

The Lanesville Branch of the Harrison County Public Library started the New Year with new operating hours.
Lanesville hours are now Monday through Thursday 11 am to 8 pm, Friday and Saturday 9 am to 5 pm.
