Open Enrollment for the Healthcare Marketplace begins November 15, 2014 and lasts until February 15, 2015.  If you do not enroll by February 15, you must wait until the next open enrollment period unless you have a qualifying life event, such as marriage, childbirth, adoption, or loss of your previous health insurance.  Medicaid and CHIP are always open for enrollment.

Here is a list of the information you will need to sign up for coverage.  Go to to enroll.

If you already signed up for coverage in 2014:

  • The Marketplace will automatically enroll you in the same plan or a similar plan.  If you did not give permission on your 2014 application for your financial information to be checked and used, or if your income has increased, you may receive a smaller tax credit or none at all.
  • If the Marketplace can't automatically enroll you, you will receive a notice telling you what steps to take to renew your health insurance.
  • You can choose to enroll in a different health plan for 2015 even if the Marketplace automatically enrolls you in your old plan.  You must do this between November 15, 2014 and February 15, 2015.
  • For more information, go to

If you do not have health insurance during 2015, you will have to pay a fee on your 2015 tax return--$325 per adult and $162.50 per child, or 2% of your household income, whichever is higher.
