To qualify for the Teen Read Challenge you must be a student age 13 through 18 or entering the 7th through 12th grades in the fall.  Students entering 7th and 8th grades may choose to participate in either the Summer Reading Group division or the Teen Read Challenge, but not both programs.

Instead of reading a required number of books to receive a prize, each book read earns a teen student an entry in a weekly prize drawing.  Enter by close of business each Wednesday for that week’s drawing.  Winners will be notified on Fridays.

The Summer Reading Program begins June 1 and ends on the close of the workday July 31, 2012.  The grand prize winner will be notified the first week of August.

Teen readers will be expected to read materials on their grade level.  Materials from the Adult section of the library, audio books, comic books and magazines checked out from the library will count.  (Easy readers, picture books and kiddy magazines will not count.)  Books must be checked out, read at home, and returned no earlier than the following day.

The weekly drawing prizes will be a pass to Corydon Cinema, a pass to Golf Shores, large pizzas from Pizza Hut and Papa John's, food certificates to Rocky's Dock Seafood and J. Gumbo's,  Dominos breadsticks or Cinna-stix, and Culver's mini concrete mixers.  At the end of the summer we will draw for a $100 Visa card, a $50 Visa card, and a $25 Visa card.  Contact the Youth Services Department at the library with any questions.
