This Saturday, May 25th: a visit from the StarGeezer!

Join us at the Elizabeth Branch of HCPL on Saturday, May 25th for a visit from Mark Williams, the StarGeezer.

Afternoon program:

3:30 pm: Indoor "planetarium" type program in Elizabeth library conference room. Topics: basic backyard sky-watching and observing tips, constellation clues, why we have seasons, "What's Up?" upcoming celestial events and preview of today's outdoor observing program. Q & A followed by outdoor observing program

4:00 pm: Outdoor observing with 10" reflector telescope of Sun and sunspots. Note: telescope has special solar filter. Never look directly at the Sun

Evening program:

8:30 pm: Indoor planetarium program (see above)

9:15 pm: Outdoor observing with 10" reflector telescope. Planets Jupiter, Venus and Mercury will appear within a tight triangle of less than 2 degrees above the western horizon at dark. Other targets: the Moon & planet Saturn
